SECTION 1.

(Telegraphic.)

TRADE-MARKS. American Convention.

Tokió, May 13, 1908.

Please see my telegrams No. 25 and No. 30 of the 25th March and the 14th April respectively. The Japanese Government have now agreed to include within the scope of the Convention, patents, designs, and copyrights, after much pressure by the United States' Government.

It is expected that the Convention will be signed at Washington within the next few days, although two questions with regard to Hong Kong marks and patents still remain to be settled.
